To maximize app benefits, a Bluetooth 4 Heart Rate Service (HRS) compliant sensor is recommended (e.g., Polar H7 Smart, Wahoo TICKR, Bose SoundSport Pulse).
If you lack a heart sensor:
- Calculate your VO2 Max with a 1½ mile run.
- Determine your Maximum Heart Rate.
- Receive optimal heart rate zone recommendations based on your fitness objectives (fat burn, cardio, etc.).
- Access references regarding the usage of heart rate zones in fitness and sports sciences.
Data Privacy:
- Your data remains secure on iOS Device or iCloud Account with full control over who accesses it.
- The app seamlessly integrates with Apple Health eliminating the need for additional accounts.
- All data is stored locally on your iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch without any external internet databases involved.
Battery:
- Running GPS continuously in the background significantly impacts battery life.
- Prolonged use of the Apple Watch heart rate sensor can also reduce battery life substantially.
